My name is Madison Lee and I am a Rhode Island based Tattoo Artist. I currently work out of my private studio in Warwick, Rhode Island.
My Story
My story started in Rochester, New York where I was born and raised. Growing up I was surrounded by a family of artists who encouraged my creativity. I spent almost all of my time growing up drawing, painting, or reading. When I was older I decided I had to take the more practical route and chose to attend college at the University of Rhode Island. I bounced around from major to major never being able to find anything I loved or could see myself doing for the rest of my life. I was 19 pursuing my undergraduate degree when I finally decided to apply for a tattoo apprenticeship at Black Lotus Tattoo in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Within a few weeks of apprenticing I was completely in love with tattooing and finally felt the peace of knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I completed my apprenticeship in 2020 and continued working as a licensed artist until 2023.
In February of 2023 I made the leap to open my own private tattoo studio. I wanted the freedom to create an environment where I could give myself and my clients the best possible experience. Tattooing for me is never about hustle culture or accepting quick walk-ins. For me being a tattoo artist means connection and artistry. Creating art that means as much to me as it does to the clients that trust me to create it. My studio has truly become my second home where I can provide a private, relaxing environment personalized for every person who enters my space.
